Office Visit Policy

All patients are required to present a valid driver’s license or photo ID, a current medical insurance card, and co-pay if applicable at every office visit. Patients without verifiable health insurance will be required to demonstrate a form of payment before being seen.

Check-in is promptly at your given appointment time. Patients who check-in 10 minutes after their appointment time may be asked to reschedule.

We do understand there are times when you will be late due to circumstances you cannot control. In every case we will do what we can to accommodate you, however it is not always possible.

Cancellation /Missed Appointment Policy

Please be aware we may assess your account a $56 to $84 no-show fee for missed or appointments not canceled within 24 hours. The amount charged depends on the type of service that was scheduled for you.

3 or more canceled/rescheduled or missed appointments may result in dismissal from the practice. We do understand there are times when 24-hour notice is not possible. Emergency cancellations or missed appointments will be evaluated on an individual basis.

EMERGENCIES

In addition to our regular office hours, our practice has extended office hours listed on the home page and coverage 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. There is a provider on call each night and all weekend. During regular office hours or extended office hours, please call our office before going to the emergency room or hospital. We are here when you need us.

Refill Policy

Prescription medications require monitoring. We ask that you schedule an appointment to have your prescriptions refilled. Please bring a printed list of your medications and all supplements you are taking to your appointment. Preventative visits such as yearly physicals cannot be combined with visits for prescription refills, or illness related visits. We ask you to schedule these appointments separately.

Insurance Claims/Billing

Westmed Family Healthcare participates with most major insurance carriers. As a courtesy to our patients, we will file insurance claims for those insurances with which we participate. Please remember, any allowed amount not covered by insurance is ultimately the patient’s responsibility. A list of the major insurance companies we participate with is on this website. Please contact your insurance company if you have questions concerning your benefits and if Westmed Primary Care, PC is a participating provider. We require that you bring your insurance card and photo ID to all visits.

Payment

Payment will be required at the time of service for all services that are non-covered or determined to be the patient’s responsibility, including co-payments. Payment may be made by cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover. If you have a question regarding insurance, billing or our fees, please call our business office at 303 450-4680.
